The Fine Arts Department in comprised of the Visual Arts Program and the Performing Arts programs. Both programs are designed to afford students the opportunity to creatively express themselves and to develop their God-given talents. Artistic class experiences and engaging instruction help students as they learn to perceive their own works in the context of classroom creation and in the larger world of art making.
The ensembles present two performances a year including a spring musical. Students are given the opportunity to participate in several GMEA events including District & Statewide Honor Chorus and audition for the Georgia All-State Choirs.
At Trinity Chapel Academy we aspire to celebrate our culturally diverse family. We traditionally celebrate our Hispanic, African-American, Scotch-Irish, Asian and Native American heritages through visual art and heritage craft. Mrs. Huff continually looks forward to creating new lesson plans to enhance history and cultural awareness through art. As well as focusing on master artists and established forms of art, it is important to introduce students to contemporary art and view art and design in a modern light. Middle school age students respond enthusiastically to graphic design and typography based learning so projects of this nature are designed to inspire them.
An overview of the history of theater is also given in this class. Students learn about the roots of theater, as well as significant additions and changes that theater has undergone throughout history. Towards the end of the semester, the students go through a “Christianity and Theater” unit, in which they discover the challenges of working as Christians in the secular theater world, as well as how “Christian theater” is portrayed.
