Students at TCA are exposed to technology beginning in kindergarten. They are taught web searches, word processing skills, research, and are exposed to a variety of computer programs and age appropriate educational sites. Elementary students learn to operate on a PC system. In middle and high school all students are issued a MacBook. In 2009, TCA adopted a MacBook educational platform in order to expose students to the industry standard for creativity. The popularity and ease of use of Apple products made this a logical choice for our students. Our students use their MacBooks to take notes, create innovate presentations, access their textbooks, and collaborate with teachers and students on projects and assignments both at school and at home. TCA has purchased a sophisticated filtering system to keep students safe while online at school. Students have a technology handbook that guides them in the use of their laptops both on and off campus. Everyone who uses a laptop is required to carry insurance through SafeWare. This fee is in addition to the technology fee. Middle and High School Laptop Documents |
